A legger pallet, sometimes referred to as a three-legger, is a type of pallet that is distinguished by having only three bottom supports or "legs" instead of the more common perimeter base or a full deck of bottom boards. These legs provide the primary support for the pallet, and there are no additional boards on the bottom. This design makes the legger pallet lighter and more cost-effective than other types, but it also means they are not recommended for use in warehouse racking because they are not as stable as perimeter-based pallets. Legger pallets typically come with parallel boards on the top and bottom, supporting heavy and bulky items during transportation and storage. A standard legger pallet can measure 1200 x 1000mm and have a load capacity of 1000kg, which makes them suitable for a variety of applications. They are often used for storing goods on the floor or for general transportation purposes. The design of legger pallets can vary, with some having extra boards attached to the bottom for additional stability. These are known as conversion-based pallets or raised pallets. However, true legger pallets do not have these extra boards and thus do not sit flush with the surface on which they are placed.
